Last Friday was a momentous day, one of my best friends got married to his soul mate the beautiful Lorraine.

For those that know me I have a real issue about get old and leading up to their wedding I had a bit of a wobble, in my mind we are all still 16 messing about without a care in the world but in reality we are adults doing adult things (well sort of !!)

It was an absolute honour to photograph their wedding day at the gorgeous Ashwells Sports and Country Club in Brentwood, I could not have relaxed watching someone else shoot their day.  Working surrounded by all my mates was a bit weird (in a good way) at first but it just made for a wicked day.

In honour of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations I thought it would be the perfect time to showcase the amazing Bridal shoot I did a couple of months ago in our gorgeous Capital City.

We had the absolute honour to be able to shoot at the top of the iconic Gherkin building in London's Bishopsgate area, the stunning Leadenhall Market and the fantastic Millennium Bridge with St Paul's Cathedral making the perfect backdrop.

London is an amazing City and when you merge that with a beautiful model and a stunning wedding dress I was blessed with the opportunity of capturing an endless amount of beautiful images.  With this post I decided to showcase my top 50 favourites in no particular order - I hope you love them too.

All images were shot using a mixture of available/natural light, video lights and Nikon speedlights.  I am thinking about posting before and after images - if you think this is something you'd like to see and could possibly help you with your photography and editing in some way please leave a comment below....

Anna and Tom's Wedding at Maidens Barn, Essex | www.gavinconlan.com

Anna and Tom's Wedding is my last of 2011 and what a way to end the year, their day was amazing and so much fun.  It's great being a photographer when your surrounded by fun people, it makes my job so much easier as we just laugh our way through the day.  

It was the first time I'd shot a wedding at Maidens Barn and I must say it's a perfect venue which I'd totally recommend - I even managed to set up my own studio space in the balcony area.  There were so many highlights for me with the main one being.... (well you'll just have to watch their slideshow - towards the end) I don't want to spoil the surprise for those that didn't attend.

I also want to give a shout to the playlist for the evening, so many classic songs one of best DJ sets I've ever heard.... and to Anna for making their wedding cake I hope the images do it justice because it looked beautiful on the day.

Beverley & Ryan's Wedding at the Lords Golf and Country Club in Rayleigh Essex

This past Saturday the 9th July I had the pleasure of photographing Beverley and Ryan's wedding, it is such a beautiful thing when you see families so full of love, everything and everyone were amazing in helping me achieve the shots I needed.  I hope when you view the images and the online slideshow once it's live you'll be able to grasp the absolute joy and feel the special bond they have with their family and friends.

Their wedding was at the Lords Golf and Country Club (www.lordscountryclub.com) - it's the first time I've covered a wedding here and it was a great experience barring the lack of air conditioning at the start of the ceremony, needless to say I got a little bit hot .....  We were really lucky to have such great weather, everyone could chill out on the decking over looking the golf course and the children could be let loose on the grass to play between the ceremony and wedding breakfast. 

I want to give a special mention to Ryan's speech, mate hand on heart that was one of the best speeches I've ever heard.

I just want to take this time in thanking everyone again for making my job so easy I had a real blast and it's a true honour being your photographer.

Michelle & Jon's Wedding at SS Peter & Paul's Catholic Church & Marygreen Manor Hotel, Essex

On the 19th February I had the great pleasure of shooting Michelle & Jon's wedding. The ceremony took place at the SS Peter & Paul's Catholic Church and the Reception at the Marygreen Manor Hotel in Brentwood Essex.
